IDS Drop Rate?
Ok so I've been doing a ton of runs on my derv farming these, must be getting close to 30 now, and haven't seen an IDS drop even though I got one on my first run. Question is, do they have a gold or green drop rate? Because I've had alot of gold drops.

Hmmm ids are gold so logically they are a gold drop but then again they are a unique gold drop found only in mineral springs - its a bit like me saying about the drops for fds - ive only ever had 4 drop and that was in eotn doing the punchout but they are meant to be fairly common drop.
30 runs personally is nothing when you consider its a chance drop and if everyone had them by 30 runs you`d see them selling in outposts for 1k each. Prime example is elemental sword - i did 80 runs on sin and no drop - my wife did 3 runs in total ( only had just got her sin there ) and she gets a req 9 ele sword drop .. damn lucky she was and shes probably matched me now in runs ( maybe 200+ ) and shes never had another drop. All drops are random chance and no1 can really state how it works. |

I just did the run thing because normally after that many run solo you would get a green you were farming and have a fair nubmer of golds. Appears they have their on drop schedule.

Its all random - ive farmed dwaynas grace maybe 50x now in a week and out of that i got 1 and before ive done 5 runs and got it , same with the other 2 bosses right next to him/her - ive got 1 custows bow and 2 luluhs spears out of the 50 runs.
Drop rates i feel are misread - 1% chance drop doesnt really mean 1 in 100 , to me 1% means on that kill it has 1 in 100 drop so doing 100 runs maybe you get 1 green and that was your lucky 1% drop regardless of the number of runs this could be in theory how the coding works so think of a basic computer program 1 chance of drop - y/n if y goto 2 2 choose from pool of droppable items for that foe or area so boss X is killed and routine says yes a drop can happen then it goes thru and randomly picks a drop - and there could be say 10 drop possibilities which increases if in hm for items not included in loot scaling so say 20 .Knowing anet theres probably loads of subroutines and blah blah to make drops even more random. Greens if were more frequently drop would cause the market to crash as they would be so common - claws of broodmother are prime example , out of say 200 runs ive only got 8 , wifes done about 150 runs and never had 1 drop. |
